The deck was clear last night when I went to bed....it's clear again now, but when planning on the zoo for the day, this was not what I was hoping to see. However, is does cover the yucky dirty snow and makes everything much prettier! :-)
We did not let the snow deter us from the zoo. We left her at nine and took the hour ride down south the Beardsley Zoo. It's a small zoo, but it has animals that are "real and not stuffed" as the boys said multiple times to do. Or as they asked "are they real?" :-) And it's free with a library pass, so what more can you ask for? It was almost freezing, (the mid 30s) so we didn't stay in one place very long, that and the boys kept wanting to go find more animals. So it was a fairly quick trip. Which the hour drive there and back we were out four hours or so.
Evie showing off her wing span here she is from a little less than two years ago! Note to self, show Evie that picture.....
Evie and Kaleb watching a wolf.
Prairie dogs! Evie loves the prairie dogs. The boys weren't quiet tall enough to see how the tubes yet.
Hanging out watch the bison.
The boys couldn't wait to see the tiger!
Evie as an otter. Kaleb as the random orange thing.....If you want to see Evie as an otter when we first moved here three years ago check it out here.
Some bald eagles.
We spent a few minutes watching some crazy goats! The one in this picture was able to stand on his hind legs for several seconds. It was impressive.
And we did manage to find one peacock to chase by the end of our time there :-)
The rest of our day was pretty low key. We came back to a slightly cold house....I turned the stove off when we left for the zoo because the high was supposed to be in the 50s.....it didn't make it to the 50s and it wasn't sunny at all so the house was 56 when we got back....ooops :-)
