Drum Set

Hannah started drum lessons in September........I didn't think Hannah would need a drum set for several weeks after starting lessons, but her teacher has done things differently than when I took lessons forever ago. So she started right out on a drum set. With the move and vacation and craziness of life I was unable to go anywhere to get a drum set (I figured buying used on craigslist was my best best and all the drum sets were hours away). Hannah, being the incredibly creative child she is made her own drum set and all I had to do was go to the thrift store for some pot lids, which are super cheap for some strange reason ;-)
Here is her original drum set she made, hanging the pot lids from the ceiling in the basement
As you can see it by the boxes it was very well loved......
Yesterday we drove an hour and a half to pick this set up (it was a ride cymbal as well, but it was missing a nut to hold it on, so we have to get one before we'll let her use it).  A slight upgrade I think :-) She's been loving it!

The last month of craziness.....

Where do I start since I last left off. So much has happened in the past month and a half. We have not had two weeks with the same schedule yet. I am really looking forward to two weeks looking the same, but I don't think that will ever happen again, at least not in the near term. We moved September 15th, started our homeschool partnership the 18th which involved swimming lessons, guitar lessons and a tinkering class for the boys, piano, PE and tinkering for Evie, drums, PE and robotics for Hannah. Oh, did I mentioned the day we moved we picked up a free piano with the moving truck? That was all a God timing craziness. We started a home group/small group/community group (whatever you want to call it) at our house September 20th (yes, we are crazy), and finished cleaning out the rental the 23rd. That week may have been completely insane, just maybe. But our weeks haven't gotten much simpler since. The first few weeks after moving people kept asking how unpacking was going. Honestly, we haven't unpacked anything since that first week, because well....we got school stuff out the kitchen unpacked and that's about it. Our garage is still full, there aren't many toys out and I still have no clue how to arrange the house, as it was not exactly a house I was excited about buying. After not doing school for two weeks in the moving process I started school again with the kids the week of the 24th. We had some issues with partnership classes that didn't work themselves out until the week of Oct. 1st, so those two weeks had different schedules....October 7th we left for vacation after church. We came back the 14th. Nathan had the 15th and 16th off, Evie started swim team again and so the complications of the week add up. Tomorrow I have the hour and 20 minute (one way) drive for a two minute ENT appointment, which means my Monday will be useless.... I'm excited there is an ENT in town now, but they don't take the boys insurance yet, they're working on getting certified for it, then I won't have to go far, and that will be wonderful....but anyway, that is the craziness from the past month....The good news is going forward things start dropping off the coming month, so hopefully life will calm down a little even though we still will not have two weeks the same.
