Another adventure of this weekend was going to the central library downtown to meet up with Lyn, Hannah's birthmom and her half brothers, Tray and Zach. This was the first time my parents and Lyn have met. Everyone in our family has seen pictures of Lyn and her boys so they feel like part of the family, but Lyn had not met any of our extended family before Saturday.

Crawling!!
On Friday my parents came into town and Evie turned 7 months. She also decided that was the day to start crawling. I'm not talking just a couple crawl motions, I'm talking across the room. I got home from picking up my parents from the airport and we were sitting in the play room watching the kids and Evie saw a ball she wanted and just went for it. And kept after it until she got it. She's gotten even more efficient after a few more days of practice and is TROUBLE. She locks on a target and goes. Most of those targets are the toys Hannah is currently playing with. :-) Not so good. Anyway, I got her crawling on video along with another new skill she decided to start for her grandparents. Waving!

Something else
Recently, Hannah has gotten into the habit of asking for "something else" when she doesn't feel like eating what we've served her for dinner. It's been a little excessive lately (she'll sometimes ask for "something else" right away). So tonight I decided to give her "something else". I put a small amount of water in a bowl, put a spoon in it, and set it in front of her...
Hannah: "Whats that?"
Me: "Something else."
Hannah: "What's that?"
Me: "It's something else. Try it."
Hannah takes a spoonful of water from the bowl and puts it in her mouth. She smiles. "Yum."
Me: "Do you like something else? Is it good?"
Hannah: "Yes."
After several minutes of eating water from a bowl with a spoon she became interested in what we were eating and was happy to eat that too. Later in the meal she points at the bowl and says "Would like some something else?" She again enjoyed several spoonfuls of water.
A bowl of water has now become known by the proper noun "something else".

Bread making and cute kids
Yesterday we did a bread making class with our friends James and Sarah. I brought the camera along to get some pictures of the excitement, but for some reason I only ended up with pictures of the kids. The class was great and we had a lot of fun. We made some challah bread and cinnamon buns. Yummy!!! The class was at the instructors house and she was kind enough to have her two daughters watch our girls while we were doing the class. It was great food, great company and no kids (except for the occasional appearance, check out the pictures below). What more could you ask for?
Terrible twos? What's that?
Yesterday Hannah was out with Daddy and "Uncle" James to make some copies and asked to go to a flower store. They asked why she wanted to go to a flower store and she said "get flowers for Mommy" what else would you do at a flower store? So yesterday I received a beautiful bouquet of flowers from Hannah!
I have had two people this week tell me that threes are much worse than twos. Is that true?

Rain for 40 days
I want to thank everyone for their positive feedback on the blog. It's motivated me to try and take more pictures and remember the stories from the day. But really, the pictures seem to be the big thing everyone says they want more of. So here is Hannah, she loves umbrellas and had me open this one for her the other day. She takes it from me, walks away and says "It's going to rain for 40 days" maybe she's heard Noah's ark a few too many times :-)
Thoughts from 3 am
Evie woke up at 3 am this morning. I can't remember the last time she woke up in the middle of the night like that. She's done a couple early mornings 5:30 or 6, but she hasn't done middle of the night for months now. And of course being awake, she did not want to go back to sleep without eating. So as I was sitting there feeding her I was thinking of what I could post on the blog. What else do you have to do at 3 am right? Too bad I didn't have the computer with me, or I could have done it right then. But at last, it was 3 am....and do you think I remember anything I had come up with to post? I remember half of some of it, but not enough of any to put together a good post. So this is what you get instead :-) Oh the joys of motherhood!

Eggs are like flowers
Hannah picked a flower while we were at the park. I asked her what color it was (it was white with a yellow center) and she said "White" "what color is in the side" "like an egg, yellow! it's like the egg Ms. Jeanie (one of our friends) gave me." I thought that was pretty good for a two year old!
Another story from today....I was starting a bath for Hannah and Evie, Evie started crying, not a big surprise, so I checked and Hannah wasn't bugging her, so I let her go and continued drawing the bath water. Evie kept crying so I turned to check on her again and there was Hannah, with Evie upside down, holding her by her feet. Keep in mind, Evie is long and Hannah isn't huge, so they're only maybe seven inches apart. I'll put it this way, Evie's head was not fully off the ground, although Hannah was trying. Oops....Hannah really is a great older sister and absolutely loves her little sister. She really was just trying to help Evie because she was crying. What a sweet sister.

Question of the day
Ok, so Nathan and I have random survey questions that we do on our friends all the time. Or at least on his co-workers, who he says are the ultimate authority on everything. So I figure I should start posting them up here :-)
The question of the day is how do you hold your fingers when you're showing the number three? (You can vote on the poll to the right)
A)

PICTURES!
Starting Information
Since I need somewhere to start we'll start from the past week. If you want more information feel free to email. Evie is now six months old, and cut her first tooth last week. We are into the joys of teething times two. Hannah is cutting her two year molars. Yay. Other new developments, Evie is now able to sit herself up, and is trying to pull up. She hasn't succeeded in the pulling up, but I'm sure that, along with crawling is not far off.
And just to help with all those requests for pictures, I'll try to get one of those up too. Anyone know where the cord for the camera is?

Here Goes Nothing
Ok, after everyone and their brothers (ok, maybe only a few people) telling me I should start a blog I think I'm going to actually try. We'll see how it works. I will attempt to update people on our lives, so everyone can be in the know and maybe even put pictures of the girls up every once in a while. :-)
