County Fair!

I took the kids to the county fair before it was really up and going. It was free at that point, no entry fee and no rides or food up yet to distract the kids. Just animals and fun....okay, so maybe not that much fun, but definitely animals. It was really small, we went with some people from church and ran into more people from church while we were there.

Someone took out a duck for the kids to pet.

Pigs! There was a little excitement while looking at the pigs, as one of them got out :-) But it didn't get far and they were able to get it back into it's pen.

After we walked around all the animals we walked around the fair grounds which is on the river. While we had stopped to talk to some people from church the kids went down to the river to play and had a great time getting huge snails and empty shells. Hannah "accidentally" brought home a snail and we still have him. His name is Rocky and he's living in a bucket in our front yard. We've had him for over a month now, since we went to the fair August 1st. We need to take him back, but I'm surprised he's still alive.
