The National Zoo

Some of our Thursday in Maryland was spent at the National Zoo. The kids had been asking to go to the zoo a lot recently, so I had told them we would go before we made it to Michigan. So it was high priority to get to the zoo with the little time we had in Maryland. Unfortunately there was a special event going on in the zoo so the closed parts of it early, which was a little disappointing, but the kids weren't really doing the greatest either....they were a little tired by this point.

The kids enjoyed watching the orangutans that would hang out on the ropes and

The kids really liked watching the gorillas as well

The elephant was fun to watch playing with the tires 

Or maybe it was just a back scratcher 

And of course we had to see the pandas!

And we got to see this beautiful peacock! 

The tiger was a sleep so we didn't get a very good view of him, we did see some other animals as well, I think the kids had fun, they were just very tired after a few hours there and hadn't been sleeping the best. We'll definitely have to try the zoo again another visit!
